As managing Director of Speedmaster, James Hanson has a wealth of knowledge on both current and historic racing and road cars. In fact he can trace his racing pedigree back to the 1930s when his grandfather Jack Hanson first raced in hill climb events.
Add to this the experience of setting up and running a UK distributorship of high performance vehicles that competed with the likes of Alpina and AMG, as well as running Speedmaster and selling collector cars since 2005, his qualifications are exemplary. James has also raced touring cars for both BMW and Volvo, in the European Touring Car Championship and now races Historic F1 cars.
James travels to the premier classic and collector car events each year either competing, buying, selling, meeting clients or all four.
Events attended include the major auctions, Goodwood Revival, Pebble Beach, Goodwood Festival of Speed, Spa 6 hours, Silverstone Classic and many more worldwide. Speedmaster has competed at and won prizes at all of the above events. Speedmaster buys sells and sources collector and classic cars predominantly from the 1950s to the 1990s as well as a smaller number of pre-war cars. These include Aston Martin through Bentley, Ferrari and Mercedes-Benz to Porsche to name a few.
In addition we have an extensive knowledge of 1960-1980s Formula 1 (F1) cars, sports cars, Lemans prototypes, Grand Touring (GT) and Touring cars.
